Ken Kranrod, M.Sc. P. Biol., is trained as a Biologist obtaining his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Alberta. He originally worked as a professional consulting biologist on a wide variety of projects across western and northern Canada. In 2007, he became Vice President of Alberta Conservation Association, which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to working on fisheries and wildlife populations including large scale habitat retention and restoration activities across the province.
Ken is a parent of youth athletes who regularly played at the GO Community Centre for several years. As such, he become quite familiar with the benefits and challenges of the facility. When the opportunity arose in 2019, he gladly joined the GO Community Centre Board of Directors, acting as a representative of the Edmonton Volleyball Centre Society. He hopes that his experience with fund-raising, project management and advocacy will allow him to meaningfully give back to the facility and organization that has been a wonderful asset to the sporting community and his family.
